The GREAT SCREAM (The Self Manager)

The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA) emphasises the importance of vocational skills in preparing students for future success. We aim to prepare students for academic and professional success by developing essential vocational skills.

Several studies have linked public speaking, procrastination, or time management to mental health issues such as anxiety, stress, depression, sleep deprivation, and low self-esteem. The Mind Emotional Nurturing programme is here to empower you, supporting students in their personal and academic growth during TY. Our programme provides the following:

  • Academic Goal-Setting: Strategies for setting and achieving educational goals.

  • Time Management: Techniques for managing time effectively.

  • Public Speaking: Understanding and building confidence and proficiency in speaking.

  • Overcoming Procrastination: Tools and strategies to combat the habit of putting things off.

Effective time management skills can improve academic grades by 25%, and public speaking training increases students' confidence by 30%. In Ireland, 85% of employers value effective time management and organizational skills as critical for success, demonstrating the long-term value of these foundational study habits (Irish National Skills Strategy).
